Roxum’s foundations were laid when Jack Jordan met James Dillon and Jamie Bennett at school and their shared love for music drove them to play together in a cover band called ‘Aikon’ playing a number of charity shows at college. In November 2005 after leaving college the band decided to carry on playing together and wanted to play more shows around the Leicester music scene so called on the services of singer Dale Taylor. After a number a small gigs around the Leicester area the band started to play further afield and in 2008 decided it would be fitting to rename to Roxum and went out to establish their own original and infectious club rock sound. The combination of club style drum beats, hard hitting bass lines, mind blowing guitar riffs and strong vocal performances have contributed to Roxum’s current success as one of the most marketable acts currently in the East Midlands.

In 2010 Roxum recorded their first self-funded studio album titled ‘My Money’s on the Bear’ capturing their finest work of the last 5 years. The album was recorded at the Parlour Studio’s in Kettering and was produced by Neil Haynes. “Putting the album together was the best time of our lives so far, it was the first time we heard the songs we had been playing for the last 3 years and it really gave us the chance to sit back and really shape and define our sound going forward” said guitarist James Dillon. The final piece of the jigsaw came in the shape of bass player Callum Chapman, step-brother of Jack, who joined the band whilst studying Music Production at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Now in 2011, Roxum come to the UK audience with a UK Summer tour promoting their album ‘My Money’s on the Bear’ in which 9 tracks from the studio album are available for free download. Roxum have also released the remaining singles ‘Around and Down’ and the self titled track ‘My Money’s on the Bear’ which are available to buy online.

“Times are exciting for us right now and we just want to get out there and play as many places as we can to show people what Roxum are really about. We are really proud of the music we make and we have loved doing what we do since day one and we all truly believe we have what it takes to take this band to the next level.”
